Agosto é um mês peculiar no Bananão. Getúlio Vargas se matou em agosto e Jânio Quadros renunciou. São os exemplos mais famosos que temos. Também dizemos que agosto é Mês de Cachorro Louco. Mas não é somente aqui que agosto é um mês marcante.
A Primeira Guerra Mundial também começou em um agosto, 92 anos atrás, em Sarajevo. A primeira bomba atômica foi jogada em Hiroshima em um agosto.
O colunista Richard Holbrooke, do Washigton Post, acha que podemos estar muito próximos à uma terceira guerra mundial. Cita Paquistão, Afganistão, Irã, Iraque, Líbano, Israel. Todos países problemáticos e muitos com arsenal nuclear. Talvez ela começe em agosto, talvez até nesse.
